Brittany already knew exactly who she wanted as the wedding DJ for her late fall wedding in the South Bend area – the same DJ her sister Erin had used for her New Years Eve wedding reception at the Century Center a couple years prior. And that DJ was none other than Michiana legend, DJ Sticky Boots. We made that dream a reality and worked with Brittany and John every step of the way to make planning their Mishawaka reception a breeze.
Windsor Park in Edison Lakes is a fantastic venue to start with, and the couple wanted to enhance the look with uplighting to highlight the drapery behind the head table. They chose the Highlight uplighting package appropriately, but made a very unique choice in color, picking pure white to bring out white of Brittany’s wedding dress and complement the navy color of the rest of the décor. The results created by the couple’s South Bend uplighting were stunning, and everyone including the photographers from the fabulous Josephiney Photography in Nappanee commented how striking the lighting accents looked.
After cocktails and a high energy grand entrance to “Happy” from Pharrell Williams, there were touching speeches from the bridal party…. and then something special happened. Before the wedding, Sticky Boots worked directly with John to create a special music mix to go with a dance routine that John and his groomsmen had choreographed as a surprise to Brittany. As the Best Man finished his speech, their South Bend wedding disc jockey hit the music and the bride was completely overwhelmed with emotion as the guys showed off their moves on the dancefloor. We love creating unique moments like this for our clients, and the guest erupted in monstrous applause and a standing ovation as the routine finished.
Following the excitement, a wonderful dinner was served, catered by their Mishawaka wedding venue, Windsor Park Conference Center. Shortly thereafter, John and Brittany danced to custom edits of their special and parent songs, and then the dance floor was masterfully opened by the reception DJ. Guests kept it packed all night up to the bride and groom’s last song, a family tradition of signing “Piano Man”
