KAITLYN AND TIM’S POSTPONED COVID RECEPTION IN GOSHEN | DJ, REMOTE SPEAKER

Let’s be clear right from the start, the global Coronavirus pandemic hasn’t been easy on anyone. Not parents, not senior citizens, not health care workers, not civic leaders, not DJs, and certainly not engaged couples. Many couples have had to pivot more than once, adjust their expectations for their big day, and many like in the case of Kaitlyn and Tim, have had to postpone their celebrations completely.

The way the afternoon light streams through the west-facing windows in the historic Spohn Ballroom on a late summer day is something special. And so is this venue, with its 3rd floor vantage point on the corner of Main and Clinton Streets overlooking the Courthouse square in picturesque downtown Goshen. You can almost imagine yourself back in time 100 years ago with the bustling Main Street in Goshen in full swing: Cable cars rushing back and forth, the Hotel Goshen welcoming weary travelers across the street and the Olympia Candy Kitchen serving up sodas and other sweet treats from its lunch counter next door.

When you’ve been together for 14 years, have four daughter’s together, and all of your friends and family stopped asking about a wedding a decade ago, a pesky worldwide pandemic from an unknown virus might be enough to make an average couple say, “You know what? I think we’re good for now.” But Amber and Michael are no average couple, and they weren’t going to let anything stand in their way on this special day.

Elkhart couple Sara and Jared had been planning their wedding since last Fall and had every contingency covered. At the beginning of March we started looking at options for alternative dates and even had one picked out in August, but we were thrilled when Sara announced that they were going forward with the event on it’s original date with whatever modifications necessary to meet state safety guidelines. Our incredible partners at Bread & Chocolate Events and Catering were on board too, and it was all systems go!

New jobs individually brought Cara and Pete to the Goshen-area, a meet-up group connected them, and then Bread & Chocolate in the Old Bag Factory in Goshen brought their respective families together from the Noblesville Indiana and Trenton NJ areas for this memorable January wedding celebration that kicked off Sticky Boots’ 2020 wedding tour.

TRIVIA NIGHT FUN FOR THE HOLIDAYS IN GOSHEN

Live team trivia is a perfect alternative for the bland and awkward company holiday party, especially for smaller companies with a guestlist of under 100 people.  It’s a popular choice with local companies who know that dancing won’t be popular, but still want to give their employees fun after-dinner entertainment and create some good-natured competition.

MADISON & CODY'S COUNTRYSIDE WEDDING IN GOSHEN, IN | CEREMONY, DJ

Rock Run Creek Barn is a beautiful venue in Goshen, Indiana, with historic big red barn charm and modern amenities like heat, indoor restrooms and a lower floor that becomes the perfect location for a wedding ceremony when the weather just isn't cooperating.

Madison and Cody knew their November wedding would have an incredibly scenic vista of fall color, but they proactively chose to have an indoor ceremony to take a bit of the Indiana fall unpredictability out of the equation.

PAULA & DON'S CHARMING DOWNTOWN GOSHEN WEDDING | CEREMONY, DJ, UPLIGHTING

When Paula and Don arrived at our office in Don’s custom VW Beetle for their initial free consultation, we could tell right away they were a special couple. Don’s a jokester, and he wasted no time making us laugh in telling the story of his work with the Edward Lowe Foundation, the roots of the Lowe fortune in kitty litter, and how he planned to throw kitty litter instead of rice following the ceremony! Paula may have had a thing or two to say about that, but either way, the couple was planning for a fun ceremony and reception after having met on a blind date just 8 months before.
