LEAH & ADAM’S LABOR DAY WEEKEND RECEPTION IN SYRACUSE | DJ

We love opportunities to see our friends at the Oakwood Resort in Syracuse, Indiana, and it’s probably no coincidence that we tend to be performing there on holiday weekends.  Why?  Because people love to spend summer holiday weekends at the LAKE – Lake Wawasee to be exact!   And there’s nowhere more scenic or versatile than the Oakwood for a holiday wedding on the Lake!

Oakwood Resort offers several different event spaces for brides and grooms, including outdoor spaces, but in our opinion, the best venue on the property is the Hilltop Banquet space because it offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, air conditioning, and a panoramic view of Lake Wawasee.  Julia and her staff always do a great job with weddings and make the vendor team feel welcome. Newly-married couple Leah and Adam felt the same way and choose the Hilltop at Oakwood to host their Labor Day Weekend Sunday reception along with DJ Sticky Boots and our Platinum package for their emcee and entertainment.

After a beautiful wedding at Maple Grove church in nearby New Paris, guests drove to Lake Wawasee for an outdoor cocktail hour on the Hilltop’s back patio overlooking the lake.  The weather had been threatening rain all weekend, but it was nothing but blue skies for this charmed evening; and we positioned a speaker outside on the deck to cover cocktails while the sound of skiers and tubers on the lake provided the background ambiance.

With cocktails complete, guests moved indoors for a very unique Grand Entrance in which Sticky Boots introduced Leah and Adam first, and then handed over the mic to them to introduce each member of their eight-person bridal party themselves, with custom edited songs for each person and a fun personally-delivered bio of each.   It was a cool twist on the classic custom grand entrance, and guests (and the bridal party too) loved it!

A lengthy quartet of speeches and toasts followed from both fathers as well as the Best Man and Maid of Honor, moving some guests to tears.  It was then time to eat and DANCE!   As you can see from the video below, this group was feeling this LDW, and they crushed the dance floor with everything from Sweet Caroline to the latest EDM.

By the way, need another reason to host a wedding at Oakwood Resort?  Consider the Resort itself! It has 77 rooms, a couple of restaurants, a spa, a private beach and more.  Your guests can simply walk back to their room when the party is over!   And that’s just what this group of revelers did as our night drew to a close, with friends and family surrounding the happy couple to send them off to their new life as husband and wife.  It was a perfect way to unofficially end our Summer wedding season, and we can’t think of a better couple to spend it with!   Congratulations Leah and Adam!

Best experience ever!!

We had the BEST experience using The Music Place for our wedding at Oakwood Resort in Syracuse. Blake proved he was a pro from the very beginning. We had two zoom calls with him to make sure he knew our music style and must-play songs. He answered all of our questions and made the process so easy and stress-free! We had a perfect day, and he kept people on the dance floor all night with a large group staying until the very last song! Would recommend to anyone!
