An enormous tent set lakeside at private residence on Pretty Lake in Plymouth, IN was the setting for Washington DC couple, Megan and Jon’s wedding celebration, and the location certainly lived up to its name on this gorgeous summer afternoon in June!

Notre Dame grads, Jon and Megan, originally came to us from a local venue’s referral nearly a year before the wedding and was looking for a full-service DJ company who could effectively help plan their wedding from halfway across the country.   Long-distance coordination is one of our specialties, and their Plymouth wedding DJ, Sticky Boots, was in constant communication with them via email, phone, and Facetime to assist with all their planning details.   Late in the process when their location changed from a traditional venue to a lake side tent outdoors, Sticky was easily able to adjust the plans and execute the event flawlessly from ceremony to Grand Exit.

The lake was smooth as glass for the outdoor ceremony on the lake shore with a view of Plymouth Country Club across the water, and our small ceremony sound system provide crystal clear playback of all the special ceremony music.  The wireless microphone for the officiant was flawless as well, allowing everyone in attendance to hear the service clearly.  Sticky Boots, the couple’s Notre Dame outdoor wedding DJ, also helped coordinate all aspects of the ceremony timing, which helped relieve the stress of an outdoor tent wedding and set the parents’ and bridal party’s mind at ease as well as Nathan, their friend who was performing the ceremony.

A charming cocktail hour followed in the yard, with a fully-plated gourmet meal catered by Papa Vinos afterwards.  Cocktail and dinner music were a tasteful blend of contemporary acoustic selections from artist like Regina Spektor, Joshua Radin, Ingrid Michaelson, Ed Sheeran, and Ellie Goulding.  The toasts were outstanding and dancing followed, with a packed dance floor inside the tent for the rest of the evening.  The couple wanted to steer very clear of the typical stale, cliché wedding playlist and Sticky Boots delivered with a modern, expertly mixed soundtrack of mostly new Top 40 hits for the younger crowd leading up to a spectacular sparkler-lit Grand Exit to the Notre Dame Victory March.   It was the perfect end to a perfect evening!
