OLIVIA AND SELDON GATHER AT THE ARMORY FOR THEIR SOUTH BEND WEDDING | DJ

Vendor relationships mean everything when it comes to producing an amazing wedding for our clients.  We are so grateful to have preferred vendor status with many area venues, photographers, and other wedding professionals, and one of our favorites in the South Bend is Navarre Hospitality Group.  Lately we’ve been blessed to work with the Navarre team at The Armory, the event space attached to Iron Hand Wine Bar along the St. Joe River in South Bend, for three of the last four weddings.   Olivia and Seldon’s wedding reception made up the final event of that run, and what a way to finish it off!

Seldon actually contacted us over a year ago in the Spring of 2019 to begin the planning process.  Melissa at The Armory had recommended us, and Seldon knew he wanted a DJ who was experienced in the space and could offer them an affordable, no-nonsense approach to their entertainment.  Seldon and Olivia would also be planning from a distance, with him being an engineer in the Kokomo area, and Olivia attending grad school in Toledo.   With our powerful array of virtual meeting tools, we were able to connect easily and do all the planning remotely, which was a help even under normal conditions, but especially helpful now with the reality of COVID-19.

On the day of the event, guests gathered at The Armory after a beautiful ceremony in a nearby church and were entertained by an energetic Grand Entrance from the bridal party including Seldon’s brother and best friend walking in together carrying a tape measure to make sure they remained “socially distant”, haha!

The Entrance was followed by emotional speeches and toasts from several members of the bridal party as well as Olivia’s dad, Ray.   We learned about how the couple met, what it was like growing up with them, and we even learned of Seldon’s “DJ Phase” in school when he was making beats and known to his friends as “DJ Pricetag”.    With a resume like that, we may be looking to add him to our staff before long, lol!

Following dinner, Olivia and Seldon kicked off the dancing with a beautiful first dance, along with the traditional Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dance.  Amazingly both the Olivia and Seldon’s parents chose the same Bryan Adams song at their own weddings over 25 years ago, so we celebrated their marriages as well with a special dance just for them!  Soon the dance floor was open to everyone and guests danced the rest of the night away while a talented caricature artist worked his magic to the delight of many guests who went home with a fun piece of art as a keep sake of the evening.

After a final dance with all the guests surrounding the newlyweds to the sounds of “Piano Man”, folks lingered for another hour in the Armory, almost unwilling to end a perfect evening.  We loved being a part of it and loved executing yet one more event at this amazing venue.   Congrats Olivia & Seldon!

DJ Sticky Boots was was so easy to work with, and really kept our wedding reception going! He was very professional throughout the planning, and ALWAYS quick to respond. The extra money spent on a high quality DJ was some of the best money spent on the wedding. Thank you!
