We started 2013 off in spectacular fashion with the early January South Bend, IN wedding reception of Emily and Sean held at the beautiful Morris Park Country Club. The couple had a classically themed winter wedding with colors of black, white and red and chose our Gold Wedding DJ package to complement the evening. We added two modern LED uplights in ruby red to enhance the area behind our setup and blend it perfectly with the red roses in the table centerpieces.
Guest arrived to lightly falling snow over the already white golf course and the panoramic windows at Morris Park made for a dramatic look in the room. Following cocktails, guests were treated to a custom grand entrance to the former Bulls’ NBA theme song with each member of the bridal party being introduced like a starting lineup, complete with their “position” (as bridesmaid or groomsman) and height in feet and inches. The team “MVP”, the bride and groom made their entrance and went into an immediate huddle with their “team” before breaking to head to the head table for heartfelt toasts from Emily’s father and the Maid of Honor and Best Man. What a crowd pleaser!
After dinner guests were further surprised with a formal ballroom dance routine for the couple’s first dance and father daughter dance. Their St. Joe county wedding DJ provided the ability for custom tempo changes for each of these songs complete with custom early fades to coincide with the dance routine. More than one jaw dropped as Sean skillfully twirled his bride during their Foxtrot.
This northern Indiana Michiana wedding reception continued far into the evening with a full dancefloor as guests packed the dancefloor for an anniversary dance to celebrate the longest married couple in the room, a snowball dance with the bridal party to get everyone involved, and even a spirited soul train line towards the end of the night to the sounds of Rick James. It was a great way to kick off 2013 wedding season!
