The one-of-a-kind Allure Ballroom in Laporte, IN was the venue for one of our largest wedding productions of the summer with Jenna and Larry’s incredible celebration in June. Planning started nearly a year prior with Jenna and her mother meeting with us as their Laporte area wedding DJ and selected our Sticky Boots Ultimate wedding package to assure the event would be second to none. In addition to its beauty, the Allure Ballroom is a versatile space, and Jenna made great use of every aspect of the setting, make the Ultimate package the perfect choice.
We provide a northwest Indiana ceremony and cocktail sound system for the first part of the evening in the lower level of the Allure. Guests arrived and were seated for the service which included prelude music, a microphone for the wedding officiant, and expert playback of the special song selections by their Laporte county wedding DJ. Guest then moved from the ceremony space to the back bar area of the lower level to enjoy cocktails set to a soundtrack of contemporary cocktail music at a perfect volume for conversation. Later with the help of the fantastic staff at the Allure, friends and family were escorted upstairs to the main ballroom to be seated for dinner as Sticky Boots prepared the wedding party for their grand entrance. The ballroom looked breathtaking, bathed in purple uplighting with soft Rat-Pack style dinner music already playing from the powerful and crystal clear DJ sound system.
And what an entrance it was! Taking full advantage of the custom audio production and grand entrance services we offer with our Platinum and Ultimate packages, Jenna and Larry’s awesome bridal party dramatically entered two by two down the grand staircase, each to individually selected songs, capped off by the bride and groom’s own entrance which included a classic dance to Frank Sinatra, punctuated by Sticky Boots dropping the needle on the record and Larry unexpectedly breaking into the Dougie. The guests went wild! Neither Jenna nor Larry are short on personality and neither are their friends, so an entrance like this set the tone that this was going to be a PARTY!
After dinner guests enjoyed a special slide show photo montage presented on the Allure’s big projection screen, and we provided the soundtrack with songs synced to the 15 minute presentation. As the cake was cut, guests also had the option of visiting the front cloak room at the Allure to have some fun with another feature included the Ultimate wedding package: our custom red carpet paparazzi step and repeat backdrop. This feature is a unique alternative to the traditional photo booth, and replicates the type of red carpet backdrop commonly seen at movie premiers, nightclubs and other star-studded events.
Guests stepped in front of the custom designed wall and took their own selfies to post on social media or got their photo taken by the good folks from Derby Photography, Jenna and Larry’s official wedding photographer. Prior to the wedding, Jenna worked with Sticky Boots and our graphic designer to create a design utilizing her wedding colors, names, and date in a monogram type look that fit the style of the event. The newlyweds even got to keep the 8’ x 8’ vinyl step and repeat backdrop after the wedding, so you can bet there’s a garage somewhere literally with their name on it!
After dinner and cake, the northwest Indiana deejay filled the custom parquet dance floor for nearly 3 hours of dancing, and it stayed packed the entire evening with a high energy and fun mix of party classics, new top 40 hits, and piano bar sing alongs. Guests of all ages had a blast dancing to the sounds of the powerful RCF sound system under the control of DJ Sticky Boots’ veteran guidance, all while being bathed in the nightclub and concert style moving head lighting which swept the room with bright and colorful gobo patterns. The moving head lighting is another unique feature of the Ultimate package and is a great choice for a modern look in a larger venue with high ceilings like the Allure.
The night drew to a close at 11:00pm with the majority of guests still in attendance, a full dance floor, and friends and family wishing it didn’t have to end. Everyone had a great time, and Jenny at the Allure remarked the room looked and felt the most beautiful she can remember seeing it in hundreds of previous events. We can’t think of a better way to start a lifetime of milestones and memories as husband and wife!

Working with Blake "DJ Sticky Boots" was one of the easiest tasks that we had while planning our wedding! From the very first meeting with him to the end of the reception, it was a stress free experience. He is easy to work with and very professional. We requested a seemingly complicated entrance for our large bridal party, which included different songs for each bridesmaid/groomsmen. Blake's high level of skill created a flawless entrance that was a huge hit for all of our wedding guests! We can honestly say that the entertainment provided by Blake set the tone for the rest of the evening and never disappointed. He was a huge hit!! Book your next event with Blake!
