STORMY & NATE’S COUNTRY CHARM WEDDING IN NAPPANEE AT FARMHOUSE WEDDINGS | DJ, CEREMONY

Colorado couple Stormy and Nate are all about the country lifestyle, so Farmhouse Weddings in Nappanee was the ideal choice for their late summer wedding back in Northern Indiana.  Nate is a busy rancher in Colorado and Stormy works for the USDA, so planning their ceremony and reception back in Indiana fell primarily on Robin, Stormy’s mom.   We worked with Robin in person and Stormy via Skype to plan every last detail of the country-styled wedding, which as you can imagine, included a very healthy dose of country music.   And when we say country, we really mean pre-1990 “Country & Western” as Nate is not much of a fan of today’s modern country music.

The couple’s ceremony was held in the rustic Ceremony Barn at Farmhouse weddings and officiated by a family friend.  Guests then transitioned from the ceremony to the main turn of the century barn for cocktails and dinner.  We set the musical landscape for this time with classic country selections from artists like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Conway Twitty, Emmylou Harris, George Strait, Clint Black and Eddie Rabbit.

Even with all this country, Nate had a surprise up his sleeve for the first dance.  He had selected a special Chris Ledoux song for the first dance as a surprise to Stormy, but secretly told us to begin the first dance with “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix a Lot and did a full dance routine to the first 60 seconds of the song, much to Stormy’s surprise as the guests roared with laughter.   It was a moment so fun and out of character for Nate, and a perfect photo opportunity.    We love to create special moments like this, even if it’s on the fly with a last-minute idea!
