SYLVAN CELLARS WEDDING WITH SAMANTHA & LANTZ | DJ, CEREMONY, UPLIGHTING

Samantha and Lantz live in Colorado but were looking for a unique, country-style venue to accommodate their ceremony and reception for 200 guests, many of whom are Amish.  They also needed unique DJ entertainment that could accommodate their needs and supply the proper expertise to pull off an event of this magnitude….from a distance.  Samantha’s cousin, Janie, had worked with us before on projects, and being a former wedding photographer herself, knew that DJ Sticky Boots was the perfect choice to bring all the puzzle pieces together.

We worked with Janie primarily through the process, bringing in Samantha and Lantz via phone and Skype for the critical decisions, and when Sticky Boots arrived on site on that late September day, everything was planned to a “T”.   The weather was beautiful that afternoon, so the ceremony itself was outside on the unique Sylvan Cellars property, although in an orchard area between two abandoned buildings where they had never actually held a ceremony before.   We were able to work through all the challenges of a new location to provide crystal-clear sound for the guests to hear the entire ceremony. And as you can see from the pics, it ended up being a perfect location, even Samantha and Lantz’s ringbearer, their corgi, loved it!

Afterwards guests transitioned to the outdoor patio space behind the historic barn for cocktails and appetizers, while Janie and her team made the final preparations in the barn itself for dinner and dancing.  Following a dramatic grand entrance from the top of the staircase into the barn, guests were served a traditional Amish meal of noodles, chicken and gravy, prepared by Samantha’s own family, which was certainly designed to “stick to your ribs”.

With all that food, guests were anxious to dance off the calories, and Samantha planned for a PARTY, complete with disco-ball place cards, full up-lighting to illuminated the rustic barn wood, and even a custom-made black and white checkerboard raised dance floor, giving guests their own Studio 54 platform to bust out their best moves.  We even provided a huge 24” disco ball to complete the look. Sticky Boots was on stage and brought the heat to the turntables to keep the crowd moving all night before sending guests down the stairs for the final Grand Exit.   It was an exceptional night in an exceptional location!
